Rediscover The Little Prince Like Never Before
December 13, 2025
Updates

We’ve all read The Little Prince, but have you ever wondered what it would feel like to visit his world? This December, that dream gets a little closer to reality. In a massive leap for entertainment, NTT Docomo and HTC VIVERSE have partnered to bring the classic story to Hokkaido—letting families step off the sidelines and walk right into the heart of the adventure.

In partnership with HTC VIVERSE, Wevr has developed “The Little Prince: A New Adventure Begins Here”—the world’s first free-roam, location-based XR adaptation of Antoine de Saint-Exupéry’s masterpiece. This isn't a movie where you sit and watch. It is a journey where you stand up, walk around, and meet the beloved characters face-to-face.

Finding the Heart of the Story

When HTC Chairwoman Cher Wang decided the world needed a new way to encounter the Little Prince, she picked up the phone and called Wevr.

Neville Spiteri, Wevr CEO says - “Wevr has long believed that VR’s killer app is interactive storytelling—embodied, social experiences that fully transport you. With this project, we leaned into the power of VR and set out to create a profound sense of presence as friends and families journey together through the magical, deeply meaningful world of The Little Prince. It’s an extraordinary opportunity to advance the medium from documentary into narrative adventure, and we’re profoundly grateful for it.”

At Wevr, our goal is always to pair the best, most passionate talent with the right IP. In this case, we didn't just find a director; we found a lifelong fan. We brought on Alberto Vittadello, a creative director who still holds onto the dog-eared copy of the book his mother gave him when he was ten years old.

Alberto realized what many fans know to be true: The Little Prince changes as you age. The story takes you in new directions and asks new philosophical questions every time you read it. Together, Wevr and Vittadello set out to translate that multi-generational magic into a virtual reality format.

A Living Pop-Up Book

To get this right, the team traveled the world, studying location-based VR to see what features worked best. The result? We’ve built something that feels less like a video game or a virtual tour and more like stepping inside a living pop-up book.

Because the experience is untethered (no heavy cables holding you back) and shared, it offers something no movie theater or living room can match: connection. Grandparents, parents, and kids can explore the same world, at the same time, together.

Wearing lightweight XR headsets, guests physically walk through 16 hand-crafted scenes, meeting 14 iconic characters—including the Pilot, the Fox, and the Rose. You wander across asteroids in space and stand in the vast Sahara under a sky full of stars. Every narrative beat stays faithful to the story.

The new cinema is here

We believe this is the next great leap in entertainment.

Not since the birth of the movie theater has a new format so completely re-imagined how stories are told and shared. We call this the New Cinema: it’s physical, social, emotional, and built for the places we already gather in like stadiums, museums, hotels, malls and neighborhood family entertainment centers and more.

The Little Prince: A New Adventure Begins Here is just the beginning. Stay tuned, because The Little Prince is preparing to land on more planets (and in more cities) very soon.

Welcome to the next hundred years of storytelling.
